Flats In Winter – Dressing up in the winter can feel like a chore… a time when we tend to attend lots of parties and events. However, I will admit that I often get to the point where boots and heels are too much. I’d give anything to slip into a pair of sneakers, but they’re generally considered casual for the workplace and everything else. So I was delighted to discover Rothy’s, a comfortably stylish, sustainable shoe brand.

I chose these Rothys flats because the trendy leopard print can instantly dress up any look. The pointed toe elevates the shoe’s style, and best of all, it comes without blisters, which I usually struggle with in ballet flats. If you’ve been on an endless search for comfortable winter boots, this is definitely the missing link. Below I will share three different ways you can use it.

For an effortless weekend look, these flats look fantastic with a pair of jeans, a chambray top and a men’s style coat. (Feel free to ditch the jeans for comfy leather leggings!) I love how relaxed they feel. You can shop all day in them and not feel weighed down. These shoes are so soft that they are great for travel too!

Finally, this leopard from Roti can spend the night in the flats. The fun leopard print makes them trendy and chic, so you can style them with dark pieces. For example, a little black dress, a turtleneck or a leather mini skirt with dark tweed parts. Add a duster coat or leather jacket as a finishing touch.

Overall, I was very pleased with the durability of these washable flats from Roti. I love how they aren’t too tight or constricting – very comfortable and easy to slip on like a pair of sandals. Velvet is one of my favorite winter fabrics, and I don’t think that will change anytime soon. I remember when I was first introduced to Velvet. I was 9 years old, standing in the office of a woman who made competitive figure skating costumes. I just got my first custom “big girl” dress and I couldn’t be more excited! My dress was made of a rich dark purple stretch velvet with rhinestones. Almost two decades later, I still love the fabric and try to wear it many times every winter. One of my favorite winter trends is wearing velvet flats. I think they can really dress up an outfit and add glamour. Of course, velvet flats are also extremely comfortable and a great alternative to heels for parties.

These green velvet flats from Sole Society are very festive, making them perfect for winter. I love the classic almond shaped toe and how this style comes in three colors. I choose green because it is a festive color but not as popular as red. My favorite aspect of these velvet flats is actually the trim. I love the crystals and intricate embroidery, it really takes these velvet flats up a notch! To make it holiday, I pair these velvet beauties with a green blazer. This is also a great work option! However, you can easily style them with jeans and sweaters. Don’t shy away from bright colors including green in winter. Of course you can use these with neutral colors, but also other colors like blue, red, yellow and pink! As editors, we independently select and write about things we love and think you’ll like. After all, they are comfortable, stylish and go with anything. The good news is that you can wear ballet flats in winter! Make sure to shape them correctly so you don’t end up looking like a frozen popsicle. Here are some tips to keep in mind: Choose thick fabrics: When it comes to ballet flats, thicker fabrics are definitely better in winter. Look for a pair made of wool, velvet or leather. Opt for a closed-toe style: Open-toed ballet flats may be cute, but they’re not exactly practical in the colder months. Choose a closed-toe style instead, so your toes don’t freeze! Wear with tights or socks: Wearing tights or socks with your ballet flats is a great way to add extra warmth. In addition, it also helps your shoes stay firmly on your feet. With these tips in mind, you’ll be rocking your ballet flats all winter long!

Why are ballet flats popular in winter? Flat shoes with no tread can be found in a variety of styles and brands. When you step out onto your ballet floors, make sure you are aware of your surroundings. Ballerina flats come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be found online or at shoe stores. In winter, penny loafers are the most common type of ballet flats. Wedges, heels and athletic shoes should be worn with pants or pencil skirts. Instead of flats, go for heels with a skirt or dress for a more professional look.

Why do people wear socks when they wear flats? Choose an open-front top below the ankles (like ballet flats) and thin and sheer socks. Low socks and non-exposed socks are also available. Ankle boots like brogues, loafers, creepers, derbies and Converse can be combined with socks.

Just because you have cute socks doesn’t mean you need them all. Instead of thick knit socks, choose thin ones (perhaps with a cool design) that can be combined with your flats. We love a loafer-sock combination, try it.

To help you look your best with ballet flats, we’ve compiled a list of our top tips on how to wear them and how to do it. Tights, socks or stockings should never be worn with ballet pumps, as they can cause unsightly folds and creases around the ankles.
