Before Thanksgiving I finished Jillian Micheal’s Ripped at 30; Last week, I completed 30 days of Shred. Next month, I’ll be replacing Jillian’s Killer Abs and Killer Buns & Thighs with a Kick Box Fast Fix on the weekends. Of course, I will walk/walk the dog every day and participate in lunchtime Yoga and Pilates with the ladies. That is my favorite part of my work day!

Ways To Get Your Fitness Goals And Stay Motivated

I’ve always loved photography and photography, and over the past few years I’ve been taking a lot of photos. I bought several DSLR cameras and took a course at a community college. I’m always looking for ways to improve, of course, like practice, doing will make you better. Since podcasts help inspire, motivate, and improve my health and fitness a few months ago, I started looking for podcasts to improve my image by educating and motivating me. Another one I’ve found I love is the Photography Improvement Podcast. http://improvephotography.com/?awt_m=1buoZUnd.Qc&awt_email=casaundra%2ehall%40gmail%2ecom I also participate in the CameraShy Take52 Photo Challenge on facebook. This week’s theme was “new”. This is my new view:

“Start Fresh” – In the spirit of New Year’s Resolutions it is appropriate to start fresh with health and fitness goals.

FOLLOW!!! As I write this it is the 4th quarter of the Pats vs. Texas. The Pats were up 38 – 20 with 9:58 left to play. Right now I’m wearing my 2011 AFC Conference jersey It’s too small, I need a new one, so the Patriots should have my back and win the Championship again this year! And while they’re at it, I’d like a superbowl championship shirt too…

A good place to start is knowing your goals, and we’ve never done this here. To measure my progress and see it, we need to know where I am going.

1.  Goal Weight = 134.8 – this may seem like a static number to many, but the reason I chose it is because that is about -100 pounds from my starting weight. I want the gauge to read 134.8 before I say I’m adjusting. Basically, I want my attention to be +- 5 of that weight. I want to lose my weight by May 15, 2013 – 1 pound per week.

This is me in October 2010, when I was so heavy, I don’t want to look like that again:

This is what I looked like in a bathing suit (no belly) before I started my trip. This happened in September 2010:

To achieve your goals, you don’t just need to state them, but you need a plan to achieve them. So here is my plan:

Jillian Michaels Shred It +peak 10 More Cardio Strength+ Fitness Kickboxing Lot!

My current weight is 169.2 pounds, 34.4 pounds over my goal weight. To reach my weight goal, I will track my calories using MyFitnessPal. I will follow the app on my iPhone as well as the website. What I eat now is 1781 calories / day, but I will change that if necessary if I start to lose quickly, if I start to gain, or if I hit a plateau. I’ve been following MyFitnessPal for about 2 months now and I find it very easy, they have a great database, and I’ve built a great support system on site. This tool should be instrumental in my recent success.

My second goal is to run a 5K on November 18. The P25K program is 12 weeks, but the race is 7 weeks, yikes! I don’t want to rush the kid to run 5K, so to supplement this program, I will also do it during lunch. I’ve been walking for lunch for about 2 months, but this week, I’m going to start running.

The third goal of rocking a bikini that shows my belly is to work out at least 60 minutes 6 days a week (or 360 minutes a week) that includes both cardio and strength training. My latest strength training regimen is Jillian Michaels’ Ripped in 30 program. I’ve been on it for two weeks and I’m already seeing results:

So far, I really like this program, so when I finish it, I will continue with Jillian’s 30 Day Shred and maybe some other workout DVDs. I will also continue to practice yoga 1 – 2 times a week, run (see above), and work on bikes and other exercises when I feel motivated.

I’ve been sick for about a week and I’m really worried that I’m going to start losing my exercise routine when I recover because it’s been my routine. I was feeling miserable last week on Sunday – Thursday and I couldn’t even go to work, let alone work! It is better for your body to rest when you are sick because then your system can focus on healing instead of using energy to work.

After I got sick, my husband, Dave, and my dog, Maddy, and I went down to Falmouth on Cape Cod for a long week. Our campsite was directly on the Shining Seas Bike Trail, and we biked two of the four days, so it was amazing to work slowly. I was still a little nervous going into the Jillian and Pooch 2 5K.

On Tuesday he returned to work after taking almost a week off between sick leave and the holidays. At lunch, I went for a walk every day (victory!!). I was walking 2+ miles at an average pace of 4.39 mph, which is the same pace I was walking before taking the week off! I had dinner plans with friends after work, but I went home first and did a steady 30. I felt so strong that I didn’t give up!

Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred Review

Since I took the week off from work, I decided to start week 1 of the 30 Workout program. I don’t regret it! It hurts more than the first time. Maybe because my lungs were busy fighting an infection last week. Anyway, I got home today and continued with the program, so I guess it’s official – I’m back and haven’t lost my mojo. This is a sign that my behavior has changed and I am full of lifestyle changes.

After RI30 today, I took Maddy to our Pooch 2 5K. I also decided to start week 1 again (run 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds). We were very slow today (average speed 4.11 mph) and it wasn’t the speed that really told me, I wasn’t at certain points on the road at the right time. There is one mountain that I have been on my way to, today, I must climb. It was hard, but we got through it :).

I’m glad I’m back and I’m getting better. Working on it is amazing. It clears my mind and stress. It may be the new addiction.
