Art Deco Wedding Cake – Inspired by Art Deco architecture, Jeffrey and Rommel decided to celebrate their wedding with an elegant, all-black, 5-tier wedding cake at the luxurious Whitmoore Country Club last June. The cake consisted of two layers covered in edible 23k gold leaf, and was styled with decorative black and gold geometric details. The upper two levels contained a series of obstacles that created a stepped outline, commonly found in Art Deco architecture. You might think, but the gold buttons at the back hid a nice surprise for the two happy wedding guests!
Art Deco Wedding Cake
Western weddings are not to be outdone, this cultural fusion wedding featured a Peruvian cake. Two lovely rings attached to ribbons were placed inside the cake and then hidden among lots of other ribbons. As friends and family gathered around the cake to see if they could remove the rings, the cake cutting ceremony transformed into a circle of love around the couple. What a beautiful tradition. We love being able to incorporate these special touches into our couples’ wedding cakes.

Now, one year later, we’ve just had the pleasure of recreating some of J+R’s wedding magic in a birthday cake. Inspired by their wedding cake design, this 8-tier banquet cake was created using a flavor they didn’t have time to try on their big day – decadent chocolate cake paired with coffee butter mocha cream and whipped chocolate ganache. As well as being encased in a 3D edible 23k gold leaf shell with black royal glaze detailing, we made sure to include a hand painted copy of their personal monogram to tie it all together. Happy birthday Jeffrey and Rommel, we wish you many years of love, health and happiness. XkArt deco style is chic, sophisticated and very impressive! Bold round art deco wedding cakes can have layers of different colors or the same. The traditional colors of art deco cakes are black, white, gold, copper, silver, emerald or navy – you can mix them according to the colors you have chosen. We highly recommend rocking metal accents as they add to the cake decor and really showcase the 20’s. When it comes to details, go for geometric patterns of your choice, scallops, beads, pearls, rhinestones, ribbons and vintage jewels with feathers. Such decor reflects those unprecedented times of noise.

Square wedding cakes are amazing for art deco weddings because geometry of any kind feels natural to them. As for the colors – the stone is the same as previously mentioned – from black and white to lilac and emerald, metallic details and touches are recommended. Add antique pearls and jewels for a refined feel, feathers and rhinestones for a more striking look.

To make your wedding cake even more impressive, stone layers of different shapes in one: round, square and maybe even geometric. Add glitter, rhinestones, pearls, feathers and choose bold colors to make your cake stand out.
