Asian Themed Wedding Reception Ideas
Asian Themed Wedding Reception Ideas – A simple way to make a wedding unique to you is to fill it with meaningful elements. Simple, at least, in theory. But we’ve found that if you’re looking for meaning, you’ll find it. In symbolic flower, song, color. And in the case of today’s most luxurious inspiration, meaning comes in the form of light. A wedding with chandelier decorations that easily take center stage.
There is always light at the end of darkness. We have seen many chandeliers that are presented in a luxurious manner but never appreciated from the ground level. So we decorated the chandeliers with organic forest flora and kept them low for the bride + groom interaction. We are inspired by the Diwali story of Guru Hargobind designing a completely new dress to free 52 kings from prison. The bride wore a white dress at the end to play up the idea of ”new design”.

Where do they even begin?! The bride wore a champagne colored gown by Kamalsud Adhikari which sparkled brilliantly next to the chandeliers. The South Asian dress was more modern than the traditional dress, with a beautiful translucent sleeve over her shoulders.
Simply stunning! The bride’s hair and makeup by Pink Orchid Studio were beautifully complemented by jewelery by Merial Mari.
Now that’s how you use the best decorations! Don’t spoil the beautiful dress as the evening falls, the wedding decoration chandelier brought light to the reception table.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; Only light can do that. Hatred cannot cast out hatred; Only love can do that.

As the year comes to an end, we are already dreaming about the South Asian wedding trends for next year. While new event testing and screening services have led to safer celebrations, wedding marketers must continue to think strategically in the coming year. Supply chain disruption and uncertainty about new transformations are forcing industry elites to get creative – new, but with spectacular results.
South Asian weddings represent the diversity of cultures and traditions. Denise Lilly Engagements, a San Francisco-based event planning company, reminds us, “It’s not a monolith.” Click here to explore their team’s interactive map and learn more about common wedding customs by region and religion.

South Asian Wedding Planner Events by C tells us, “There are many cultures within the South Asian community and each comes with its own traditions.” But despite this rich diversity, all South Asian couples must navigate the world of marriage after COVID-19. We reached out to eight top South Asian wedding planners and vendors to learn their top predictions for South Asian wedding decor, entertainment, catering and more.
Yanni Design Studio, a Chicago-based design and floral studio, tells us, “Couples are finding innovative and meaningful ways to celebrate with weekday weddings, live streaming and fewer guests.” Nahid’s Global Events, a San Diego-based event planning company, tells us to expect more outdoor wedding venues and destination weddings.
From intimate backyard weddings to lavish destination celebrations, discover the top South Asian wedding trends of 2022 from 8 top wedding vendors. Despite our changing times, you can still expect stunning decorations, meaningful rituals and immersive entertainment – but with a modern twist.
Eventrics Indian Weddings, an Orlando-based wedding planner, expects a reduction in guest numbers over the next year. According to Denise Lilly Engagements, “Many second-generation couples have little interest in a 700-person guest list.” Between this and the need to practice social distancing at times due to COVID-19, intimate South Asian weddings are becoming increasingly popular.

In fact, micro weddings are here to stay for couples in many different cultures. A small guest count reduces the chance of a super spreader event. They also offer personalized decorations and unique opportunities for more intimate moments.
This intimate wedding at Chicago’s iconic planetarium is spectacular with stunning floral details that pop against the soaring, glass-filled space. We especially love how the Lucite pillars create the illusion of a free floating flower crown.
A small backyard celebration still includes important cultural traditions. We love how the groom made his grand entrance in a modern car amid multicolored smoke bombs. Be sure to look for other picture-perfect details like the rainbow fabric and period table seating.
New Jersey-based Sukhdia Caterers tells us that unusual places are trendy. Furthermore, the couple incorporates the natural landscape into their outdoor events.

According to Nahid Global Events, destination weddings are also becoming more popular. Denise Lilly Engagements tells us how great destination weddings are because they always allow for a multi-day event.
New York event planner Sonal J. Shaw Event Consultants advises, “If you’re going to travel, take your guests somewhere they wouldn’t think to go on their own. We’re talking 16- to 20-hour flights, but the trip is worth it once guests experience the location and the resort.
Not only that. “Whole resort purchases are huge right now,” Shaw says, “because they offer complete privacy.” Guest interaction is mutually exclusive and it enhances the entire wedding experience.
Elegant canvas tents and authentic Southeast Asian rugs make for cozy, yet elevated spaces for dining and socializing. We love how the henna looked outside, featuring gold and deep pink floral embellishments that stand out against the surrounding vegetation.
