Navy, White & Coral Nautical Anchor Wedding Invitation
Today’s wedding featured a summery coral and navy blue color palette, a nod to the Chicago Cubs, and of course, lots of smiles and laughter. In other words, it’s a lot of fun! So enjoy 🙂
I remember Katie telling me that the coral color made her happy and I remember thinking, I love that you chose your wedding colors that way! If you’re choosing your wedding colors, forget Pinterest and everything else for a moment and think about what color makes you happy. Either way, roll with it and find a way to incorporate it into your day!
For Katie, coral took center stage in the bouquets and bridesmaid dresses and bridesmaid ties. She chose navy blue as her second color because it complements coral so well (and as an added bonus, she loves how Mike looks in a blue suit!).
Katie spent the morning at her parents’ house getting ready with her friends. He was very calm and receptive, just excited to start the day. I love all the special details she added to her outfit, including her special ring with diamonds from her grandmother’s and her grandmother’s wedding rings. Her lace, purple dress is such a beautiful silhouette. And if you know me, you know every time the buttons are pressed, I’m all eyes!
Navy Blue Coral Red Wildflowers Floral Wedding Swags Clipart
The groom had special touches including a ring from his grandfather from Ireland and a watch that Katie had given him. The boys each have their own unique Marvel character cufflinks – generally, boys have less opportunity to add their love to their outfits than girls, so cufflinks are a great way to do it!
Katie and Mike’s ceremony was held in St. Petersburg. I love how summer fits the color scheme with light woods and blues. And stained glass windows are always a beautiful touch for a church ceremony 🙂
After they were officially named husband and wife, the couple were taken out through a container (fun, right?!) and made a grand exit through bubbles.
Cathy and Mike chose the Heron Creek Forest Preserve for the location of the photos. The radar was calling for rain, but we were very lucky to be able to stick to our plan! As we sailed, the storm clouded over and it began to rain. Talk about perfect timing!

I love how the coral and blue come out in the green forest. It was such a lively, summery vibe! And, of course, the people in the photos are even more beautiful 🙂
Kathy and Mike are huge Chicago Cubs fans (and even engaged to Wrigley Field!), so they wanted to incorporate their shared interests in a subtle but fun way without offending anyone. I love how they chose this within the collection, the escort cards were made to look like game tickets, the table numbers matched the Wrigley Field section numbers, the baseballs in their centerpiece vases, and the mini cake toppers. the best.
I also love all the personal touches they add to their collection, the things they love and enjoy doing together. Homemade beer, wine and cider (made by Katie and Mike!) – I’m so impressed with what they do! And they set up a candy table filled with all their favorite candies for guests.
The words are so sweet, it shows how wonderful these two are alone and together. I think I officially lost it when Mike thanked Cathy for being his wife. They are so expensive, I can’t wait!
