Engagement Beach Pictures
Engagement Beach Pictures – Drive to Malibu… straight to El matador beach! Another trip to California and another beautiful engagement session to make the photographer’s heart so happy, this time we took these engagement photos at El Matador State Beach in Malibu! The only thing I like better than going to the beach to sunbathe and do some reading is to go to the beach to photograph happy and fun couples. I’ve been looking forward to exploring more of sunny SoCal and finding new places to shoot, especially in Malibu, and this place was a hit and is now one of my MUST spots. To make this Malibu shoot even better, the couple I photographed was amazing to work with creating the most fun and free atmosphere! Continue reading below for all the details on El Matador, the pair and all the vibes and feels.
Ok let’s talk about this amazing place that has become one of my favorites. Located in the beautiful and iconic city of Malibu, El Matador Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have photographed. When you park your car, you will be greeted by a beautiful view of the entire ocean from the cliff in front of your eyes. A short walk on the sandy steps (again with stunning views) welcomes you to soft sand, fresh air and a completely peaceful environment. What makes this sunny SoCal spot special and unique is that it is covered with giant rocks that make the place even more unique. One of my favorite types of golden hour light to shoot is when the light is bounced off an object but still shines on trees, buildings, or in this case, these giant rocks. . I can’t wait to shoot at el matador beach again!

There is nothing better than meeting new clients and having an easy connection! I really enjoyed working with Nicole and Keoni and taking their engagement photos. While they were sitting, we ran, jumped, played even a little dip in the sea. Nicole and Keoni are so much fun and can do anything. My favorite sessions are the ones where the couple shows their true selves and allows me to capture that. Nicole and Keoni are single, fun loving and carefree so it was a fun experience for me to photograph their love. Nothing fits their personalities better than a Southern California get-together where the sun shines on them at El Matador Beach. Nicole and Keoni are such an amazing couple to work with!
Summer Engagement Session At Crane Beach
Nicole and Keoni kept the beachy vibes with their outfit choices. Both barefoot, Nicole wore a champagne, long-sleeved satin dress that reached above the knee for the first half of the session, before donning a deep green slip dress for the second half. Paired with her flowing, wavy, blonde hair, Nicole seems born for a life on the ocean. Keoni keeps it simple with a button-down shirt and rolled-up pants. They both have the perfect outfit choice for a day of play at Malibu Beach.
From this stunning couple to the beautiful venue, this engagement session was one for the books. I love a great opportunity to capture couples who love SoCal and it’s a unique environment. I can’t wait for the next opportunity to shoot at el matador beach and I recommend it to anyone thinking of shooting there! We’re excited to share pictures from Hailey and Matthew’s Cannon Beach engagement! Cannon Beach, Oregon is consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It’s easy to see why! Haystack Rock is located above the beach. The sand is wide and firm. You can run, play and even dance. At low tide, marine life thrives in the tide pools near Haystack Rock. Cannon Beach engagements bring the heart and soul of Oregon wedding photography and the romantic atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest.
You can get amazing shots at Cannon Beach regardless of the weather. This is Oregon after all. Encounters at Cannon Beach usually involve clouds, fog, and mist. It was cloudy during Hailey and Matt’s reunion on the Oregon coast. As we wrapped up their couple portraits, a layer of fog rolled in. This made their engagement photos even more dramatic! And stunning. And even a little scary.

Cannon Beach is one of the best places in Oregon for beach shots. The Oregon coast is full of beach photo spots. We also love taking romantic couple portraits at Offer Rock near Neskowin. That’s when Ty proposed to Megan in a surprise proposal! Getting down on one knee, we took shots of them on the beach along the wide stretch of sand at low tide. The photos are stunning! Couples love to take beach engagement photos because they are romantic and special. The waves reveal the wild side of the picture. It’s amazing and intense! You can run, jump and chase each other. You can spin and dance in the waves with sand between your toes. You can check the sand for marine life. This is exciting! There are so many great hidden beaches from Seaside, Cannon Beach, Manzanita and Neskowin.

As a destination photographer, I’ve been blessed to travel to many different places, so I want to make sure that my tips and this blog show a wide variety of locations so you can get an idea of what wear for your engagement photo shoot. session!
So, this first tip is pretty obvious, but still needs to be stated! Depending on where you take your engagement photos will also depend on what you wear! Does that mean you can’t get dressed when we’re on top of the mountain? Absolutely not! You stay in your workout clothes until we get to the top of the mountain and then change! Just like taking photos at the beach, you’ll want to save the sparkly heels for another time!
Now this isn’t necessary, but most of my couples like to incorporate a couple of outfits into their gathering for variety! It’s usually an outfit that’s more casual and an outfit that’s more formal/dressy! The choices are yours!!!!
When it comes to planning your outfit with your fiance’, you want to make sure you coordinate with each other and avoid being matchy-matchy! For coordinating tips, I usually suggest having one person in prints and the other in solids.

Now, there are a few ways the “match” works… Like Jada and Ian meeting on top of a mountain in Hawaii! I love this black on black coordinated look that brings out the green and blue of Hawaii!
