Eye-catchy Summer Wedding Guest Outfits – Today’s episode is a reader request…I’m well aware of the question of what to wear to a wedding, so we’re going to talk about summer wedding guest outfit ideas! Whatever the occasion (beach or formal), I’ll give you at least an idea or two.

I actually didn’t (was?) having a wedding this summer (!!!) which may be one of the perks of getting older, but I definitely had my fair share of wedding experiences (guests!). As much as I like (d) complain that my summers are full of weddings, I kind of miss having an excuse to dress up and dance the night away with my friends and family (and celebrate love of course)! Also… dressing up is always fun.

When it comes to dressing for a wedding, my only rule is that I don’t wear white (unless I said, this was the case once)! Leave it to the bride; it’s his big day! My other “rule” is that I need a versatile pair of shoes that a) I can dance all night and b) won’t leak in the grass if there’s an outdoor ceremony or cocktail party. For this reason, I usually opt for a simple wedge or high heel (hello, loyal Loeffler Randall gold heels!) Stilettos are not allowed unless we are doing something formal!

So what to wear to a summer wedding! I thought about all the different weddings I’ve been to. Without further ado, here are my team’s favorite wedding guest ideas. I try to make these as inclusive as possible. I only highlight dresses that are at least XXL in size. Here are my picks for the best dressed wedding guests! (I wish this was fixed sooner, so we’re in the middle of a wedding…this one is going to take a while to cheer!)

For beach weddings I love long, eye-catching maxi dresses (similar) and flat sandals – preferably flip-flops (love these (similar) and they’re on sale!!) because you can easily put them on and take them off! ! ! ! These gold habaneros (similar) are also fun – I don’t suggest you wear them all the time, but it’s fun to wear them when you take off your heels…otherwise they make a great bridesmaid gift. Add a wicker clutch or basket bag (I love this one (similar)) and simple gold earrings like these big gold hammer rings (similar).

Formal summer weddings are always difficult because there are more dress codes. But you don’t want to be too hot! I know some people don’t like wearing black to their wedding, but for a formal wedding or black tie, I’m all for it!

I could rock a black maxi dress (like this one ( similar ) or this one ( similar ) with eye-catching crystal earrings ( similar ) and a chunky gold cuff on one wrist (Splurge on this one ( (similar) or in addition to this. (similar)), a metal clutch (similar) and a nude lace heel. (Because it’s official, we’re going with chic sandals – big fan of these Sarah Flint heels, if you use rope there.

You can get a $50 discount). Time to party and import champagne and all things fancy. Pull your hair back into a low bun or chignon and add some drama with a red lip!

Granted, I’ve never been to a boho wedding, but wearing black is a no-no (at least in most cases!). I envision a long or mid-length floral print, maybe a small crochet bag (similar), a flower crown (or a headband (similar) to make things easier) and a simple edge (similar).

For a country wedding, I would make a simple smocked printed dress (like the one above (similar) or this beautiful blue one (similar). Keep your accessories simple but attractive: a simple Bun and casual (I want this (similar). )!), edge (similar) and these fun pearl hoops. I will do my hair in loose waves or messy braids.
