Floral Chandeliers – With summer fast approaching (we’re so excited for more sun and warmth here!) and all the weddings and nuptials taking place, we thought we’d give you some inspiration for all the summer gatherings to come! This month’s Michaels Makers challenge was all about summer fun with a focus on flowers. So we’ve teamed up with her to put together a flower-inspired mini-gathering, and we’ve got some fun DIYs and recipes to share over the next few weeks. Today was a favorite – this floral chandelier is the perfect statement piece for a get together. And while we like to use fresh flowers whenever we can, faux is the way to go for things we use multiple times or want to last longer than a day or so!

Instructions: Attach flowers to the wire frame. We did this by weaving some of the longer flowers through the frame to create a base. Then we attached smaller stems by twisting them around the frame or attaching them to the frame with floral wire. Use wire cutters to shorten the stems as needed. Attach the fishing line to the 4 corners of the frame, make sure that the chandelier stays straight, and tie the 4 lines together. Tie the string tightly around the jump ring.

Wedding trends come and go, but one thing is certain: flowers will always play a leading role. A particular floral trend that has flourished in recent years? Flower chandelier.

From bouquets to aisle arrangements to centerpieces, the flowers you choose and how you present them say a lot about your style as a bride. And choosing a floral chandelier for your big day shows that you think outside the box when it comes to wedding flowers. These hanging displays replace traditional crystal lighting and table flower arrangements, combining the two for a romantic, ethereal look that your guests can’t stop talking about. No matter where you’re tying the knot or what type of wedding you’re hosting, a beautiful floral chandelier will add a garden-fresh feel to your wedding.

Even celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss is a fan of the breezy decor, saying, “They’re a great way to add visual interest to your wedding and guests are always in awe of how unexpected it is.” These arrangements really draw the eye upwards and remind me of art installations.”

Need a little inspiration for your own ceremony or reception? See some of our most popular chandeliers below, made up of flowers, hanging green garlands, raised stems and more. These beautiful floral chandeliers will highlight your big day in the most artistic way.

For a relaxed yet elegant look, opt for more is more in the form of flowing flower petals and bunches of greenery over long communal tables. Pomp and Splendor created this beautiful chandelier design in a rustic setting that is both whimsical and romantic.

Floral chandeliers are not only suitable for receptions. Hang one over you and your future spouse at your ceremony to set the stage and draw all eyes right to you both.

A green wall? This couple didn’t mess around when it came to adding a fantastic floral feel to their wedding.

Create a romantic, moonlit setting like this one by incorporating candles into your fairytale forest scheme. If youare worried about tealights or votive candles burning out mid-dinner, opt for electric light switches so you never have a dull globe.

Trailing green garlands extend to all sides of this flysheet, culminating in romantic floral chandeliers that run the center of the room.

From the pretty patterned tablecloth to the flower garden hanging above, this dinner arrangement is a feast for the eyes.

Hanging Décor Ideas Guaranteed To Elevate Your Wedding

When it comes to your wedding venue—whether it’s an expansive or a smaller space—everyone wants their day to feel intimate, and flowers draped artfully overhead are one way to achieve that. Floral designer Tom Uberuaga of Nehapwa Design in Pound Ridge, New York likes ivy, vibrant greenery and — if you want to go a little over the top — drooping wisteria for an extravagant touch. “It’s like a lush flood of floral freshness,” he says. Try all white or choose a mix of purple or blue tones to match your color scheme, like this blue beauty from The Flower Factory.

Swap out the more traditional crystal chandelier for a newly chosen fixture. The curved shape of this beauty gives it a wild, organic feel.

Guests dined among this bundle of ethereal flowers in a neutral color palette. The roses rested on a pale wooden shelf for an extra rustic feel.

In addition to the increasingly popular wreaths based on greenery and long branches, inverted single stems are also having a moment in the wedding world. Just look at this botanical chandelier that consists of colorful buds all floating above the table.

Almost every inch of this Maui wedding was covered in flowers and greenery, but our favorite part was the beautiful floral installation that hung above the couple’s head table. “We wanted them to feel like they were dropped off in the middle of an enchanted rainforest while enjoying Michelin-rated food and cocktails,” explained one of the keepers.

This wedding is full of hanging peonies, roses, lisianthus, hydrangeas and tulips. For more fairytale vibes, there are more blooms under the clear dance floor.

If you’re looking for a more unique look, hanging circular installations (covered in beautiful blooms, of course) are another option. And if your green hoops hang high enough, they’re practically untouchable—so guests will never know if they’re real or not. Mindy Weiss says many florists use faux silk instead of real flowers because of the weight factor (since silk is lighter), but recommends checking with your venue to determine if your flowers can actually hang above tables and the dance floor.

According to floral designer Tom Uberuaga, traditional hurricane vase centerpieces are outdated and only focus your attention on the center of a table. “Once a guest enters a wedding, their senses need to be stimulated and the ceiling provides such an opportunity to create coherence and harmony from floor to ceiling,” he explains. With so much more height to work on, there’s no limit to what you can do. One look at this rendering from Gro Designs and it’s clear that the sky’s the limit.

Garden Inspired Chandeliers: How Much Does It Cost?

Modern and colorful, this botanical wall is a little unconventional when it comes to hanging floral arrangements, but is no less beautiful than its more elaborate counterparts. Also, think of all the money you’ll save by not having to deal with costly groupings at each table.

This hanging installation of roses and lilies in shades of cream and blush elevates this barn reception for a sophisticated rustic atmosphere.

These colorful clusters of flowers float in terracotta pots on braided ropes. This arrangement is repeated on the runners below, with mini-me versions that can double as takeaways. DIY wedding projects are a fun way to get friends and family involved—and can be a budget-friendly option for brides to save a few bucks. You can create beautiful floral wreaths for you and your bridesmaids, design your own wedding invitations, and even create your own unique centerpieces! The possibilities are almost endless with the different things you can create. If you want to go all out for your special day, why not try making a beautiful floral chandelier?

A handmade floral chandelier is the perfect decorative element to make a real statement at your wedding! You can hang this eye-catching ornament above your dessert buffet or sweetheart table to really turn heads, or you can frame your wedding ceremony under these hanging flowers to paint a beautiful picture for your vows. Although these chandeliers are super versatile, they have one more feature that tops them all! Floral chandeliers look great, but they’re actually not that hard to make.
