But a year later, after graduating and entering the workforce, my father passed away and I quickly turned to food for comfort. This is where my weight gain started to spiral.
I hit a peak weight of 250 pounds before I became pregnant with my first child. Then I gained over 50 pounds during my pregnancy. After my daughter was born, I tried a lot of crash diets and quick fixes which, of course, didn’t work. I had my second daughter twenty months later and left the hospital weighing over 300 pounds.
My milestone was in December 2017. We came to visit childhood friends at Christmas time and took our annual group photo.
Seeing that photo on December 18, 2017, blew my mind. I ran to get my picture, and that day I realized why I didn’t recognize myself at all.

Then I also noticed that I had gained a lot of weight since 2013. I had severe pain in the joints in my knees, discharge from the sciatic nerve that helps my partner get out of bed in the morning, increased anxiety and depression. That New Year I made the choice to start my permanent weight loss journey (January 1, 2018).
Until that day, I failed every diet. I tried a bland diet (which involved one solid meal a day and two snacks) which left me exhausted and went away after a day or two. I also tried to go high carb and I freaked out.
Finally, I found the 21-Day Meal Plan, which I implemented the day I committed to lose weight.
After the holidays, I searched online for weight loss programs. I thought of the popular Instagram hashtag #weightloss #weightlosstransformation and came across @myadventuretofit (her name is Tiffany). Tiffany is the creator of @21daymealplan.

After perusing through her profile and page @21daymealplan, Tiffany’s vibe and programming just felt like a perfect match for me. Everything I did before me found this eating plan moderately restrictive or non-restrictive. And for less than $20, the plan feels like an investment.
