My Sams Club Flowers
My Sams Club Flowers – We spent over $300 on fresh flowers and placed them throughout the church and lobby. We even have bouquets in the bathrooms. The reason we got so many flowers was because we ordered a lot from Sam’s Club and arranged them myself. Having the same flowers through a florist will cost at least 2,000 – maybe more. Of course, I don’t look professional, but I’m happy with how they turned out. That’s enough for me 🙂
If you haven’t read this post from last fall, please do. I think flower arranging is one of the greatest skills anyone can learn. Keep scrolling to see the pictures and my flower arrangement.
My Sams Club Flowers
I personally recommend going to Sam’s and talking to the employee in charge of the floral department. They should have an inventory of flowers that are regularly stocked and priced lower than other seasonal/off-season flowers you see on their website. We picked up our flowers in store the Thursday before our Saturday wedding, which saved us from having to pay for shipping. Make sure you have big buckets. When you get home, cut off the tips of each stem about an inch and fill the buckets with water and plant food. Sam should send you some plant food.
Buy Floral Arrangements & Flowers
Below is my flower arrangement. This may be a little difficult to understand, but hopefully this gives you a place to start. It is important that you come up with a plan before ordering. We had lots of flowers left over so made more bouquets than you can see in the plan below. Better to have too much than not enough. We used every stem.
10 – Flower – 3 Roses, 5 Carnations, 2 Mini = 30 Roses, 50 Carnations, 20 Mini
2 – Switch flowers – 6 roses, 4 carnations, 3 mini = 12 roses, 8 carnations, 6 mini
We also picked up Leatherleaf at the store, which is very filling. We stopped ordering the rest because we didn’t need as much. It’s cheaper and more reasonable to grab two bundles at the store.
Six Reasons To Say “i Do” With Sam’s Club
The flowers really picked up! Baby’s breath and carnations lasted three weeks! It is important that you buy dried flowers that are not dried.
If you have time, take a flower class so you feel comfortable working with flowers and feel less stressed that week. At least do a group search online. This DIY project is not for the faint of heart. This will take time so make sure you get your crafty friends and relatives to help.
However, you don’t have to do it at the rate I did. If you want to do some settings, that’s easy 😉
The fake flowers we used were for corsages and boutonnieres only. I was afraid it would take time and the actual flowers would die on me. I bought the silk flowers from Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off. We spent about $60 on 22 of these, $270 each. Doing this for a florist costs an average of $10-$20 each – crazy! I hot glued the leaves and flower filler to the main flower and then wrapped it with floral tape and ribbon.
How I Diy’ed My Wedding Flowers For Less Than $500
Let me give you a few more pictures of our real flowers to give you a better idea. Please let me know if you have any questions. If you do your research and practice, I guarantee you can do it again and save a lot of money!
You can’t really tell in the picture, but on the shelves and windows on the sides of the church, there are wreaths of small carnations from leftover stems.
Two wreaths in front of church and altar. You may want to use floral foam instead of vases.
We had extra salal (the green one you see to the left of my head) so we put it in the flower foam. What you can’t see in the picture is the other side. One of the most difficult decisions I faced when planning a wedding was the decorations. It’s one of those things that isn’t essential (say food for example) but makes a big impression that it’s important. Flowers have been a big part of my decorating plans since day one and between bouquets and centerpieces, price is a huge concern! Find out how we got our English flowers for our big day (and you can too!)
Valentine’s Day Flowers: Deals On Roses Abound At Grocery Stores
When I started looking at wedding flowers, I got some ideas from Pinterest and decided to make fake arrangements. While this might work for some people (and it’s definitely a cheaper alternative!) I decided to blow things up a bit and get real flowers.
Then I started looking at online florists and saw some prices drop. This bothers me! I didn’t know flowers were so expensive. Simple bouquets like the Bridal Carnation Bouquet are also $133! For the carnations! And this is just a bunch! ACK!
Then I realized we needed another plan. The obvious choice is DIY flowers, but how do you get started? I looked online and found that there are many florists in my area. I decided it would work, but upon further research, I discovered they couldn’t give me any prices or guarantees of availability until a few weeks before our big day. What if I wait until three weeks before the wedding to get the prices, only to find out they are more expensive than expected? Then I will be at their mercy to give them whatever they ask for. That’s not my style at all.
So I did a little digging and finally found the perfect solution. An answer I would never have thought of in a million years until someone suggested it. Team Sam! Sam’s Club (which, for the uninitiated, is similar to BJ’s, Costco or Price Club) sells flowers in bulk for weddings and parties. And from what I’ve heard from friends who have used them, the quality is unmatched.

Although it requires little “golf oil” and effort, the payoff is huge. Especially if you envision your wedding with roses everywhere, it’s a good idea to look up the price somewhere!
You can get 200 flower stems for $178 at Sam’s Club. It is little more than another artfully arranged bouquet. With 200 sticks you can easily do it in the middle of the whole place.
If you’re not ready to take the plunge and go for DIY flowers, they also sell pre-made bridal sets for weddings at amazing prices. Here are my favorites from their wedding collections:
It’s really amazing. And get this: 17 Piece Set: Bridal Bouquet, 4 Bridal Bouquets, “Toss” Bouquet, 6 Boutonnieres, 4 Corsages and 1 Petals of Petals… for just $37. That price is unbeatable. They also sell coordination centers.
