Rooftop Wedding Reception – Emily and Julian originally had a large wedding with 150 guests at a venue in Santa Ynez. But when the disease worsened, they chose to completely cut the guest list and chose the right place. To make things even more special + dignified, Emily’s parents wrapped a thousand paper cranes in honor of her Japanese heritage, which was the perfect backdrop for the wedding!

Julian started the festival by walking to ‘The Circle of Life; yes, the song from the lion king. Each of our sisters stood beside us, and my brother-in-law led us through the joint ceremony. Before we exchanged our vows, we passed around the love book (art we took from the fireplace on our 1 year anniversary), and asked everyone to share a word or advice. The ceremony saw us jump the broom, a black American tradition, allowing us to enter the next chapter.

Let’s start by saying that Emily is an amazing and modern wife. Second, this shiny veil is everything. The final note of this bridal look is Emily’s beautiful bouquet. Magic.

There are many reasons why we love this black and white geometric set. Best of all, it pairs well with bold, bold flowers like these from Unique Flower Arrangements!

When it comes to small weddings, we love the altar announcement. For example, this asymmetrical flower bow packs a punch!

Remember what the weather was like; it’s about you and your friends and family coming together. With Julian’s company, StudioPod, Emily launched a podcast for Brides Brides called Bride to Have Ben. In it, she interviews grooms, wedding planners and wedding vendors to let all brides know they’re not alone.

Before the wedding ceremony on the rooftop, we went with the photographer in the 77 to take pictures on the beach of Santa Barbara. After all the food was gone, we went up to the roof to find a thousand cranes folded up for our day, beautifully decorated for pictures and dinner tables. The crane represents the Japanese tradition of blessing our family. After the first dance we had each family member give a speech (my mom also sang an original song), then the father, son and mother/son dance.

In retrospect, the most memorable moment was at the end of the evening, when we were lying in a corner on the roof, reflecting on our day, sharing our joy in starting this new chapter with life, and we woke up with a different day. Some couples warned us that the day would go by quickly, and that we might miss many moments because of the number of people we were working with. During this time we shared how we remembered every moment of the day and how our little wedding exceeded our wedding expectations.

Because the closing of this ceremony and those paper nails was special, let’s relive this magical day through the camera of Jeremy Foster Films. Can we not talk about the denim jacket from Leon Bridges?! Infinite success.

Many couples in 2021 are looking for ways to find the best place for their wedding day. And the outdoor space is a very attractive option – especially during a disaster. There’s no better place for an intimate ceremony than the Nest rooftop at the Thompson Hotel in Seattle. With spectacular views across the Puget Sound to West Seattle and the Olympic Islands, The Homestead is one of our favorite outdoor spots in Seattle.

This wedding is a feast for the eyes. Beautiful flower arrangements, large flower arches, modern lucite elements, light tents, large sparkling lights, green chandeliers, lots of candles – and of course the view. What a wonderful wedding.

Martha and Mick envisioned a design made of white and cream leather mixed with lots of eucalyptus leaves. Martha’s favorite flower is the Panda anemone – a soft pink flower with a black center. 2021 is a difficult year for special flower wishes because we face great hardships and shortages throughout the year. But luckily the supplier stepped in and we got them! We created a stunning garden design with ivory roses, white ranunculus, white lisianthus, white stock and delphinium, and of course Panda anemones.

To celebrate we created a large asymmetric arbor blooming with cream and ivory roses. We made our way through flowers woven into bright mountains and many storms and beacons. The ceiling is decorated with green vines. And all this with the greatest views across the spectrum. It was a great party at the Seattle Roof!

For the dinner party, the couple chose a long table for guests, which can seat 40 guests. We covered the long table with several small candles. Linens and light gray chairs complete the look. And the big shining chandelier on the ceiling of the tent gave soft light and set the mood. Great location!
