A great activity for a bridal shower is a date jar, where your girls can write down their ideas for a perfect date for the two of you. It is a wonderful time to see these children that I have known for most of my life begin this new season of blessing. Today, I am sharing all the details of a recent modern rustic bridal shower for another precious bride this season.
Happily, I met this girl the day she was born. Her mom was my sorority sister at Baylor (we’re Tri Deltas!) and I went to the same private Christian school with her dad. Our families are very close. Her parents’ wedding was one of the first weddings of close friends I was in as a bridesmaid, so it’s so special to see her on their wedding journey! I am so excited to share this special day with you.
As you may have noticed from the last bridal event I planned the week before this one, I always reach out to the bride to find out about her wedding theme and colors so I can coordinate my work with her wedding plans. . Bridal Shower Decoration Ideas We Love
My rustic dining room table was the perfect back-drop for eating, so I decided not to cover it with any linen. I used white washed crates in the center so I could place flowers and trays all over the table.
Since I was hosting about 30 women, I chose modern disposable plates as well as pre-wrapped plastic flatware for serving since I planned the party myself. Not only does this help with cleanup, but buying pre-wrapped flatware has saved me tons of prep time.
Glass cylinder vases and floating candles added a nice modern touch that I could do with the rest of the serving areas and tables. Plus, it’s a very inexpensive option for adding flair to a table setting.
Making flowers for this task is very easy. I bought several batches of white hydrangeas (the bride’s favorite!) from Trader Joe’s and mixed greens. To keep things simple and textured, I made each layout a little different.

I made sure to include ferns in each arrangement to coordinate with the invitation.
Along with the floral arrangement, I added fresh, realistic juices to modernize the look. You will see more in other tables.
As we were planning the shower, we decided on a 2 p.m. Starting time Based on this time, I needed to find a menu that wasn’t too heavy but would feed a mixed crowd. Knowing that charcuterie boards are a favorite of the bride and her family, I thought it would be fun to serve all the food through a charcuterie board. The key was figuring out how to mix things up and provide plenty of variety.
This is a great way to serve all ages! There is something for everyone. This whole idea fits perfectly with Claire’s beautiful style.

The important thing to remember when creating multiple charcuterie boards is to make sure they all contain both sweet and savory items. Mix meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables for a balanced platter.
For this tray, I used 12″ x 24″ marble floor tiles. Yes! I love using this because the surface area is huge without the lip. To give a layering effect, I turned one of my square bowls upside down. The other two trays were slightly elevated with dessert plates.
For the dessert table, simplicity and variety were the goals. For the Bundtinis, I chose flavors that matched the color palette of the party. Same with the other desserts I served.
Apothecary jars make great containers for candy or other dessert items. For this party, the meringues were a huge hit. If you’re not up for making it from scratch, Trader Joe’s makes one of my favorites (source below)!

Flavored water adds a special touch for guests. Here, I used my favorite combination…cucumber and mint. It’s so fresh and tasty, plus, if you keep using water and the flavor still comes through.
Since I planned to serve the food buffet style, I had to remove all of my dining chairs from my dining room and breakfast area. Instead of keeping them in my garage, I decided to use my patio chairs outside. It really softens the exterior and provides really comfortable seating for my guests.
For the centerpiece, I continued the theme by adding a galvanized metal hurricane, coordinating flowers and candles. Easy peasy!
When your guests take the time to buy gifts, wrap them, and attend your party, party favors are a must! I’m a firm believer that it doesn’t have to be expensive…just thoughtful. I know this may come as a shock, but I found these cute boxed soaps at The Dollar Tree! Can you believe I found soap with a fern on the box?!

To decorate them, I simply tied gray satin ribbon around them with a white gift tag, which I stamped “Thank You” in dark gray ink.
To set the tone for our guests at the shower, I lined my driveway and walkway with shepherd’s hooks and flower-filled hobnail vases.
