How To Add A Pop Of Color To Your Wedding Table

Say hello to my favorite shade of blue! With its soft and subtle allure, dusty blue exudes romance and elegance and all kinds of beauty. Furthermore, it has a very ethereal feel to it that I apparently can’t get enough of. This beautiful timeless wedding color theme is beyond beautiful and goes especially well with warm colors. A neutral palette with bold hints of gold, champagne, bronze and even rose gold can take dusty blue from innocent to sultry and passionate.

When I’m planning, I like to think about colors that will work with all seasons! I decided early on that I would strive to give brides an elegant and modern feel with a hint of classic that would be acceptable for any season. Dusty blue tones accented with gold and wood bring every season to a timeless level.

The shoot took place at a historic museum overlooking the Atlanta skyline – it was the perfect location for the shoot, coming full circle, embracing the classic nature of the museum and the city’s modern twist.

The flowers were full and soft with hints of blue. The bride’s bouquet was an organic arrangement of garden roses, blue thistle, ranunculus, hyacinth and dusty miller interspersed with classic greenery. The bouquet is wrapped with raw ribbon in a coordinating shade of blue. The boutonniere is made from a single blue thistle and a small white garden rose, wrapped in the same raw blue ribbon. The centerpiece of the table was similar to a wedding bouquet. It was full and sat in a mercury glass stand.

Wedding Centerpiece Ideas For Fall, Spring, Summer, And Winter Flowers

The cake was a layered vanilla almond cake with blue toned buttercream frosting and a colorful ribbon all around. The cake is topped with matching decor flowers such as thistles and greenery.

We chose a beautiful custom dress made of soft blue lace. The dress was three separate pieces that could be used for a multitude of events. The basic piece was a strapless cocktail dress in icy blue. We paired it with a full length tulle skirt and a lace jacket in the same color for a full wedding dress look. The icy blue of the tulle and lace played beautifully against the city backdrop and the more muted dusty blue in the decor.

The table was anchored by a beautiful centerpiece arrangement of dusty miller, garden roses, blue thistle, ranunculus and hyacinths in cream and soft peach tones with a mix of blues and greens added for balance. Beside the table was a eucalyptus wreath with small mercury glass votives and candles. Six large gold hurricanes were added for height along the table. The table setting is topped with gold textured placemats with a mix of vintage plates in various shades of blue. Modern, gold flatware sat on a raw linen blue napkin. Each setting is complemented by a custom menu made from handmade paper. Accompanying the place settings were blue glass water glasses and stemless champagne glasses. The table itself was a custom farm table set with a raw linen runner and gold chivari chairs. In front sat a set of bronze lanterns with candles. Wedding trends come and go, while others remain perennial favorites for both decor and wedding attire. For example, the navy blue color palette—despite having a Pinterest moment—is as timeless as they come. Here are 14 ways couples are incorporating the classic shade – a brilliant alternative to the more traditional black – into their weddings this year.

Wedding Trend: Shades Of Blue

The great thing about using blue as a wedding color is that it can be as bold or as understated as you like. Dark blue wedding colors such as midnight blue and navy blue will add a sophisticated look to your overall color palette and act as base colors when paired with lighter colors (like red, for example). Pastel shades of blue, such as sky blue and French blue, bring an airy, romantic element to your color palette – perfect for a spring wedding, an outdoor venue or creating a more casual feel. Navy blue and white is one of the most popular color combinations for nautical themed weddings, while baby blue and blush pink wedding color palette is a favorite for rustic themes. Light blue is a fun color choice if you want a vibrant, tropical wedding aesthetic.
