Catering A Winter Wedding – For anyone planning a wedding at the most wonderful time of the year (and a cold one!), here is a list of winter wedding menu ideas to warm the spirits of your guests at your winter wedding.

Like an old holiday song, a winter wedding invitation brings visions of sugar plums dancing through your guests’ heads. And hot cocoa. And gingerbread. And some other delicious winter foods. For anyone planning a wedding at the most wonderful time of the year (and a cold one!), here is a list of winter wedding menu ideas to warm the spirits of your guests at your winter wedding.

This new and trendy appetizer is guaranteed to satisfy your guests’ sweet tooth. Start your guests off with a nostalgic sweet dish that will bring them back to a warm winter breakfast (or any meal) on a cold winter day.

Thinking Of A Winter Wedding?

Grilled cheese is a Wisconsin winter favorite, so why not include it on your menu? Add grilled cheese with tomato soup to your appetizer list or a grilled cheese station to your winter wedding station list (more ideas here). Food stations are a fantastic way to make your wedding unique – and not just another wedding buffet. Unlike traditional buffets, food stalls create an environment where guests are encouraged to mingle and sample the foods at each station.

When guests visit your grilled cheese station, they’ll be in grilled cheese heaven (in the middle of your winter wonderland) with Sage Grilled Cheese with Aged White Cheddar Basil Pesto, Grilled Cheese with Mozzarella, Bacon and Romaine Tomato, and Pear Grilled Cheese with Caramelized Pear and Cream brie cheese.

Macaroni and cheese is a “must have” for any winter wedding menu – and an incredible food station for a winter wedding. Your guests can try the margarita mac: cavatappi pasta sauteed with tomatoes, mozzarella, parmesan and basil or the lobster mac: lobster, rotini pasta with gruyere and fontina served in a martini glass. The good news is that these delicious mac and cheese dishes can be incorporated into any winter wedding menu with any style of serving; ask your chef.

Traditional winter family meals bring back memories of a delicious main course served with a delicious potato side dish (like our double baked potato dish: potato shells stuffed with garlic and chive mashed that potato, perfect for sitting). For a more unique twist on your winter meal, consider adding a potato station to your list of food stations. Your guests will enjoy roasted garlic mashed and baby red mashed with chopped bacon, grated cheddar cheese, onions, sour cream and gravy – all served in a martini glass.

Delicious Signature Drinks For Your Winter Wedding

A touch of cranberry in your winter wedding decor can be a real eye-catcher, just like a touch of cranberry in your menu. Consider adding scallops with cranberry lime horseradish or mesclun greens salad with dried cranberries, toasted almonds and red onion with balsamic dressing; your chef may suggest other cranberry dishes if you want more than a touch of holiday cranberries on your menu.

For a traditional winter wedding, highlight the dinner with a traditional main course. Our beef tenderloin with crab, spinach and onion stuffing fits and works with a variety of serving options, such as a sit-down or family meal.

Renewing traditional food with a modern touch is the essence of our carving cuisine. Your guests will love choosing between roast tenderloin and herbed turkey breast (or a bit of both) along with roasted asparagus, peppers and onions. In addition, your guests can try different sauces: ground mustard, horseradish and bistro sauce.

A winter wedding menu is not complete with a sweet final course like crème brulée served with chocolate strawberries and caramel sauce. If you want a more traditional take on your holiday wedding, talk to your caterer about nostalgic holiday sweets that your guests will love.

Give your winter wedding guests a special sweet gift: chocolate mousse between layers of chocolate decadence and chocolate cake, topped with chocolate ganache and topped with raspberries, fresh mint and raspberry sauce. If wedding cake isn’t the first choice for your winter wedding menu, we gave you some other (delicious) non-cake options in our recent blog post.

Don’t limit your winter wedding menu to food; a late night coffee station can keep your guests caffeinated and enjoying your big day. A warm traditional winter drink (hot cocoa or hot cider anyone?) can warm your guests up after slogging through the cold winter snow. As an added bonus, your evening European coffee station will leave a sweet impression when you top it with whipped cream, chocolate powder and jam, cinnamon sticks, and cream and sugar. A put together winter wedding menu with all your favorite foods and winter favorites is sure to make a warm impression. Deck the Trees, the annual fundraiser for Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry’s (SVCM) fuel fund, is being held at businesses throughout the Black Mountain and Swannanoa Valley through Jan. “We really enjoyed seeing the effort the decorators put into their trees,” said Carli Petit, who judged the 2021 contest with Scott Roy and Maddie Michaud.

The literature has a common theme of redemption, where the simpler things in life are seen as more useful than the things we strive for and find valuable. As “The Hobbit’s Thorin” says, “If more of us valued food, fun, and song than hoarded gold, the world would be a happier place.”
