We use Italian buttercream as standard for all our wedding cakes. We can make vanilla or chocolate cream. Cream cheese icing is also available, but we do not recommend cream icing for wedding cakes during the hot summer months.

We were obsessed with the cake at our wedding!! The process has been truly seamless and we are forever grateful and grateful that everyone at the farm has been able to work with us through our multiple postponements due to Covid. Our guests loved the cake and the beautiful setting! Perhaps the star of every reception, the cake and candy table holds a special place in our hearts. A great opportunity for a room’s focal point and entertainment element, the dessert table should never be overlooked. Read on for our favorite ways to enhance your sweet display.
How To Create A Wedding Dessert Table ⋆ Let Them Eat Cake! ⋆
A great place to start for inspiration is to look at your location. Consider your reserved location and where the setup might be best. You can also ask the coordinator or venue planner where other people have placed their cakes and what worked or photographed well. One thing is for sure, we always recommend placing the cake on the wall with lighting, well lit, beautiful desserts for all to admire.
Try using stylish or vintage pieces of furniture as the basis of your setting. They will give you a lot of style and unique look. If that’s not possible for you, no problem! Simple tables can be decorated to make them equally unique and charming. Add table runners, tea lights, candles and vases to your wedding bouquet for a simple yet stunning setup.
Another tip we learned along the way: make table elements look better by adding height and dimensions. Use wooden pieces to add height and create different layers for sweets. You can also use shelves and wooden boxes for different levels. Have fun with extra decorations! Include quotes, banners, signage with fresh greenery or, if your venue allows, hang a backdrop. Play with fabric patterns and textures and consider sequins, tulle, satin and other fabrics.
Now you are ready to be the star of the show! Display the groom’s cake next to the main wedding cake. Or instead of one cake, get several smaller cakes, the designs of which are different, but complement each other. It’s also the perfect way to get different cake flavors! Add a delicious twist to an elegant or rustic wedding reception with a dessert table that will captivate guests while reflecting your unique personality.
How To Create An Epic Dessert Table
Take a page from Magnolia’s home decorating playbook with a rustic dessert table featuring homemade tartlets, cupcakes, and parfaits among other delectable treats.
Show off your colorful personality with an array of berries, from pretty berry scones to chocolate-dipped or candy-coated strawberries to match your wedding hues.
Donuts and donut holes can be the perfect sweet treat for a morning wedding or evening reception. Stack them on top of each other, slide them into a tray or hang them on the wall for a gravity-defying look.
Use wooden boxes to display cakes and other treats made according to your family recipes, adding the perfect touch to your country wedding style.
Wedding Dessert Bar Ideas
What could be more romantic than a chocolate dessert bar? Include homemade chocolate mint bark or any of these chocolate treats.
Regardless of the season, romance will be in full bloom with candy in pastel colors. Add pretzels covered in white chocolate for a salty-sweet combo or a pastel almond crust.
Who says you have to have only one wedding cake? We tell ourselves, the merrier. That way, you don’t have to settle for just one flavor or style. Think chocolate cake with ganache, Victoria sponge cake with wild berries, butter cake with lemon curd filling…whatever you like!
Team up with your florist and surround yourself with a variety of cupcakes, cakes and this cherry blossom angel trinket to create a garden wedding dessert theme.
Lush Greens And Botanical Wedding Vibes
When the dessert comes on a stick, you don’t need any utensils (or plates!). Fill the table with chocolate-dipped treats like Rice Krispies bars and caramel apples. Or have a chocolate shower with scoops like fruit skewers, bite-size cookies and soft pretzels (for that delicious salty-sweet combo). And if chocolate brown doesn’t suit your wedding palette, choose another shade.
Sure, there’s a bar, but we’re talking goodness on the mellow side. For a winter wedding, how about hot chocolate? In summer, guests can prepare their own milkshakes. (Your supplier provides large batches of vanilla shakes to mix in the flavors for friends and family.) S’mores, anyone?
