Gorgeous shades of purple and lavender accented with sage greens that perfectly complemented their casual and chic ceremony and reception.
“Details were key. We’ve woven the garden theme throughout the wedding, from the invitations to the farewell gifts; everything was in the garden! We even used flower names for the tables instead of numbers. We gave out small watering cans with seeded paper as favors. We had floating candles with flowers in the water to add to the garden theme,” beamed the bride. “We also had fun and practical things! We have installed socks so that women can take off their heels and dance comfortably. We had a charging station so people could charge their phone and keep taking pictures. We installed a giant chess set on the terrace for those who wanted to take a break; It was a great evening!”

To plan a magical wedding for 80 guests that would be memorable and joyous, the Venice couple hired Sarasota wedding planner Laura Detwiler Events for her expertise and creativity.

Looking back on their special day, Maddy cherishes the time when she was surrounded by all the most important men in her life.
“I come from a mixed family, it was important to me that my father and my stepfather walk me down the aisle. Seeing my future husband waiting for me, with the two dads next to me, was very gratifying – remembers the bride “Also, we wrote our vows. We wanted to express our feelings in our own words, and I’m so glad we did!”
