Sahara Roses
Sahara Roses – Today on the blog we are highlighting our and our customer’s favorite champagne rose varieties. Rose varieties featured in this post: Quicksand, Early Gray, Sahara Sensation, Sahara, and Menta
Meet the beautiful and much loved Quicksand. These creamy pink and lavender centerpieces make the most beautiful varieties in wedding bouquets and arrangements, but can be used for so much more. Our family-owned farm in Ecuador grows this variety exclusively for us year-round.

Sahara Sense is one of our new spray rose offerings. This variety is stunning with its large peach/champagne flowers that have a soft garden rose look. This new variety is already becoming very popular among our customers.
Sahara is one of our most popular varieties. Sahara is a beautiful sandy cream variety that is the perfect choice for any season and we are happy to have it available all year round from our farm in Ecuador.
Meet Minta, a soft silver/lavender colored variety. Mint flowers bloom beautifully into floral wreaths for a romantic vintage look. Important! The beige sandy Sahara rose is a classic choice and works perfectly in any flower design. Standard roses are hardy, long-lasting and offer color results. Roses can stand or be placed on soft eucalyptus or evergreens. They can be used in bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, bouquets, centerpieces, arches, and large-scale arrangements.

The Good: Standard premium roses are more predictable in color and are much harder and longer lasting! We rarely have a wedding without roses, they are truly classic and a great base element in any arrangement. They are also fun to reflect on, check out the video below!
Bad: Roses are closed and need “fat”, so they need elbow room, so no crowding! If possible set them outside for a few hours in warm weather or use a hair dryer (hot only, cold only) to loosen the leaves. Another trick is to lift the rose and hold the stem in your hand, this will force the rose to open quickly.
Rose petals are usually brown, and we often remove them, so don’t panic if they look green.
Gul Maxi reserves the right to make changes or substitutions. All substitutions are made only as a last resort, and only when the reasons for doing so are reasonable and genuine. For example, if a flower is unavailable (out of season), the wrong color, or in good condition for the wedding ceremony we will replace the flower with a similar color and price point.
