I originally saw my outfit on Helen’s Instagram a few months before my trip to Sydney. I love it (as I do so many other dresses) and actually forgot about it until I saw it hanging in her store! This was the last dress I tried on and I fell in love.
When Jake proposed, we were so excited that we called to book the church the next day! We start planning about 12-18 months in advance and love every minute of it! Because we started planning so early we were lucky enough to book all the vendors we always dreamed of having.
How long will the delay be due to COVID? We decided to rebook almost 12 months later and luckily for us we were able to have the wedding of our dreams with no restrictions!

After many rescheduled dates due to the COVID restrictions, we just want a fun and memorable day with all our loved ones. We want our wedding to be modern infused with our traditions.
We started planning the wedding 12 months before our original date. Unfortunately, like many couples in 2020, we had to reschedule our wedding three times due to COVID. Our suppliers and vendors are incredible to deal with, which makes us easy to manage.
Helen chose the dress for me and at first I was hesitant to try it on and when I tried the dress on I fell in love with it. Helen offered some outfit matching ideas and I couldn’t stop thinking about the outfit after our date. I arranged another date with Helen and went with my parents on the second date. As soon as I put the dress back on I knew it was the one and my parents loved it too.
The biggest decision we have to make is the timing of the COVID restrictions. It was difficult for us to decide on a new date and even if we did, travel restrictions between NSW, QLD and Victoria made it difficult. It is important to us that our close family and friends are at the wedding and we are lucky to be able to do it on a new day.

The highlight for me was the moment I started walking down the aisle with my father to David. In that moment, all the nervousness, tension and anxiety disappeared and I could finally relax and know that it really happened. Another highlight was that I managed to last most of the day in heels despite my broken toe!!
There is nothing we would change or do differently. Everything went according to plan and we had a wonderful day with our friends and family.

I had a wonderful experience with Helen Rodrigues Bridal. From the beginning to the day I picked up the dress, Helen was knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Helen and her team were very accommodating with the number of rescheduled dates and changes I had to make due to my broken toe. I highly recommend Helen Rodrigues Bridal! We met in April 2016 on a little place called Tinder. Fortunately, we both put our ages quite broadly. Cam is the co-owner of Lune Croissanterie and I, until recently was an International Flight Attendant for Qantas. It was a whirlwind relationship. We met in 2016, got engaged and had our child in 2017 and finally got married in 2019. We are both chill and private people. We both came from pretty bad relationships, so when we met it was clear that this was the real deal. We were blessed with our beautiful daughter and having her be our flower girl for the day was the cherry on top.

Cam had elaborate plans for the proposal, but her patience got the better of her. I just got back from Los Angeles and Cam came to my apartment and woke me up with my favorite jet lag foods and a beautiful diamond ring. I say yes to both!
Our theme is elegance with an edge. We don’t want it to be the same thing you see every day. We chose the venue because we loved going out for a nice dinner in Melbourne’s CBD (before we had our daughter!) and so we wanted our guests to have that feeling instead of feeling like they is at a wedding reception.
I think Cam will be happy to say I didn’t make her look at a bridal magazine! But I am guilty of a very extensive Pinterest board and Instagram collection. We are inspired by our travels, old movies and modern design.
I was looking through my stash of wedding inspiration photos on Instagram and noticed a common trend…a beautiful soulful yet classic dress by an Israeli designer called Inbal Dror. Not knowing that I had saved and liked different photos of the same outfit, I knew this was the one I was going to wear. It was pure luck that on the same day of this epiphany I saw that Australia’s only stockist, Helen Rodrigues Bridal, was having an Inbal Dror Trunk Show next week. I called Helen and I couldn’t believe it when she said that the dress I wanted was on its way to her. I saw it as a sign from the wedding dress gods to book a look and a plane ticket to Sydney as fast as my fingers could type.

We have been looking for the right place for almost a year but when we found it, the wedding planning took 6 months. It was easy for us because we have the same vibes and style. Having a toddler doesn’t give us the luxury of taking our time to plan everything, so I feel like it’s a “wham, bam thanks ma’am” type approach that has luckily worked for us.
We were both booked on standby (benefits from work) as a family to fly to Sydney on the day I had to try on the dress. I woke up early to check the flight time and was informed that many flights to Sydney had been canceled due to bad weather. There is no guarantee that both of us traveling with a child will get seats on a flight. So, I had to make the difficult decision to try to get there myself. It was the first time I left our 1-year-old daughter for more than a few hours. Fortunately, I remembered to take my breast pump, otherwise I would have been in a lot of trouble!
