Birkenstocks For Wedding
Birkenstocks For Wedding – Converting the interior of the hotel to an open-air party has allowed this bride to celebrate safely with friends and family.
Paige Lacina and her boyfriend, Frankie Montecalvo, are high school sweethearts who started dating in April 2006: “He asked me to be his girlfriend on the trampoline,” says Paige. After 12 years of beating, Frankie had another question in mind. “He took me on a boat ride, took me to the Brooklyn Bridge, and proposed me,” says Paige. “He knew my favorite place was the city and that it was on the water, so it was the best of both worlds.”

On July 19, 2020, Paige gathered with 50 friends and family members to celebrate her upcoming wedding at a wedding evening with her mother, bridesmaid and her future daughter-in-law. “It was very elegant and romantic with a modern twist,” he says. The poppy-inspired motif created a “homely and cheerful” atmosphere as guests were individually served plates, drinks and a vanilla sponge cake with lemon curd – followed by a sweet moment when Frankie, who competed for the International Motor Sports Association, joined the party unexpectedly. “He came straight from the race,” says Paige. “He’s gone most weekends so I was just glad to see him.”

Although details of the shower – from location and date to theme and menu – had to be modified to accommodate social distancing guidelines and event requirements, the bride followed all the rules. “You can’t change the world situation,” he says. “My idea for a wedding and reception had to change completely. The person and the reason I got married were not.
The dramatic script text and bold poppy accents on the Design House of Moira invitations set the tone for an elegant and colorful shower aesthetic. “We had to change the date three times!” says Paige about the planning process. “In the end it was the best possible result and it ended up more beautiful than I could have imagined!”
The original shower plan involved turning a “modern, elegant austere space” into a hotel, but when state safety procedures related to COVID-19 reduced the number of gatherings, Paige offered to keep a shower at home – which made it even more personal, she says.
Arrangements in shades of bold reds, hot pinks and pale blushes from the bride’s floral firm, Fleur la Fete, accentuated the exterior staircase of the house, large trees and water features. “We used loads of bright and cheerful flowers in every possible aspect,” says Paige. “We wanted natural landscapes and rugged landscapes to be part of the party decoration.”

When the guests arrived, they sipped previously poured watermelon lemonade mixed with tequila or vodka – a cool summer cocktail perfect for fighting the temperatures in the mid-90s in July.
A selection of alcohols has been set on an antique table, creating a unique bar space. Colorful flowers, arranged in urns with busts, decorated the station.
Under the tent, the central reflecting pool is anchored by long wooden utility tables. “It was hot,” says Paige. “Even though we had fans in the tent, it was a very hot day so it wasn’t that fun. However, they all did their best. “
The three flower arrangements on each table featured vivid colors and natural elements of the surrounding décor, and the pre-made drinks helped to minimize personal contact. “We served single meals and eliminated the entire buffet and made food choices,” says Paige. “Tables were well laid out and each meal was packaged separately for each guest.”

During the meal, the Bride sat on a chair with a floral pattern that distinguishes her place from the rest. The menu from Laurence Craig Catering included boxed lunches: summer rice paper rolls, artichoke crostini and cold cuts; mozzarella with olive oil and sea salt, chopped lettuce and roasted chicken, salmon or grilled vegetables; and dessert boxes with blueberry oatmeal cookies, chocolate chip cookies, strawberry trinkets, chocolate pot with cream and fruit kebabs.
“My future sister-in-law made a short toast, and then my mother read me a poem – which of course made me cry – and handed me a gift ring from Grandma,” says Paige.
The vanilla sponge cake with lemon curd filling and marshmallow fluff from The Vintage Cake had floral accents detailed in white and red.
The bride’s boyfriend, Frankie Montecalvo, arrived unexpectedly with flowers in hand, ending the celebration with a sweet note.

The guests took home diptyque candles which were displayed indoors on a large wooden pedestal under a dramatic chandelier. You may remember that wedding at the California festival we shared a few years ago (hint: it was SO EPIC we had to share it). in two pieces!). The main woman of the day was Brit, founder of the Daughters of Simone. Well my friends, the bride today is her sister Ashley, co-owner of Daughers of Simone! The wedding and all the events leading up to that big day were filled with so many great design aesthetics and swoon-worthy details that we share it in a total of three parts. (Yes, there are so many good things!)
Starting the wedding party, we have Ashley and Terrence’s bon voyage party (quite alliteration, right?). Ashley tells us a little bit about the inspiration behind the party:
We both come from quite large families and we wanted our wedding overseas to be small, so we decided to throw a farewell party in our hometown of Fresno, California. We decided to call it “Bon Voyage Party” and chose a theme that was totally our vibe – a mishmash of psychedelic hippies from the 60’s and 70’s.
And if you love this dress as much as we do, you’re in luck because Daughters of Simone have created an item inspired by this vintage dress that will be available in the new 2019 collection!

Jesse Duncan made Ashley feel like a free-spirited goddess … I mean, look at those wavy curls with flowers woven into them!
My in-laws recently remodeled this beautiful 1920s craftsman’s home (which they rent as AirBnB in Fresno; “Some Tower House”) and incorporated modern mid-century features. They worked with Melissa from Pow Wow Design Studio to do the interior decoration of the house, which made making decorations for our party even more beautiful! Melissa is a crazy genius, we were delighted that she and her team completely transformed the playground into a bohemian paradise.
We wanted this party to be very casual, but of course it had a bit of panache. The furniture is arranged in the form of several living rooms consisting of velvet sofas, Moroccan poufs and low wooden tables. We had low seating tables that ran along the driveway around a gigantic tree with strings hanging from it in every direction. As the sun went down, a mixture of lamps, lanterns and candles completely lit up the yard and it was quite magical.
It’s amazing what a few lamps, cushions, and fun seating can do in your backyard, right? To avoid stress and really enjoy the party, Event Pro West and Rochelle from The Social Spree took the reins.

With the help of Bloom Generation, guests were encouraged to do whatever they wanted: floral crowns, hat decorations, buttonholes and corsets.
The psychedelic rock band Sugar Candy Mountain appeared at this event and joined the theme of the evening!
