Unlike a suit with a tie, you have more flexibility when it comes to colour, trim and hem length. “Don’t be afraid to play with your fashion with fun colors or fun prints,” says bridal stylist Gabrielle Hurwitz. “Knee-length dresses, midi dresses and even breezy maxi dresses are appropriate; I also like the idea of a jumpsuit with a standard tie instead of a bow tie, a blazer or a patterned suit or tuxedo,” says Hurwitz. “A colorful pair of shoes, a patterned tie, bold jewelry, or a fun pair of sunglasses (if the wedding is outdoors)” are ways to add personality to your ensemble.
