Our favorite thing about living in Tallahassee is how close it is to the beach. John proposed while walking on the beach after spending the day at Alligator Point, just a 40-minute drive from Tallahassee. Adding to the surprise, some of our best friends hid in a nearby tree documenting the entire proposal! The surprise continued when we got back to Tallahassee, and John told me he had arranged an intimate dinner with our parents who were in town to celebrate with us.

We’ve heard good things about Jessica and the Parties A’la Carte team and have been impressed with the past events we’ve attended that Jessica has coordinated. Here’s How Black, Gold & Purple Can Bring The Spice To Your Wedding
A good wedding centerpiece is, above all, one that you like, but one that creates interest. Height, texture and color can create that interest. Adding things like candles, different types of flowers and greenery can also help add dimension to your tablescape. Amber and Chris’ September wedding at Chihuly Garden & Glass was a colorful, festive affair for this super-sweet couple. Coordinated by the talented Rebecca of New Creation Weddings, this wedding played with color, transitioning from a soft pastel peach and buttery yellow palette during the daytime ceremony to a more dramatic navy blue and burnt orange palette for the reception.
Amber and Chris’ ceremony took place in the Glass House under Chihuly’s large orange and yellow glass ceiling installation. A floral bow of dahlias, roses, stock and eucalyptus surrounds the officiant and the couple. Amber’s bouquet features large frilly lisianthus, apricot garden roses, buttery yellow stock and the sweetest peach dahlia. The bridesmaids’ bouquets featured a slightly brighter color palette of peaches, apricots and oranges.
During the evening, deep shades of navy blue and burnt orange are featured at the reception. Stunning navy blue velvet couches and table linens add richness. Copper charger plates for each guest were topped with navy blue napkins and burnt orange dahlias. A tall floral arrangement atop a crystal vase, filled with burgundy smokebush, orange and burgundy dahlias, peach stock and orange and coral roses. Copper, rose gold and dark gold votive candles also add sparkle.
