#7 Hilton Playa del Carmen is the heart of the city. You can walk to all the shops and nightlife on 5th Avenue! The Presidential Suite features a private pool on a large balcony. This is a great place to stay and if you like to walk around this place is unique and worth checking out.
#8 Last but not least, check out El Dorado Casitas Royale, a resort with hammocks and hot tubs everywhere. Some of the key features of all the suites here are the open showers and vaulted ceilings.

Sandals® Resorts: Caribbean 5 Star Luxury Included Resorts
That’s a lot of information, but that’s because when I was doing research on resorts in the Cancun area, I struggled to find useful information (especially the most recent) to help me make an informed decision.
First, some random thoughts and tips for your trip… I was there at the end of May 2021, and all the staff were wearing masks but no guests. To me, that’s good news, but if you care about it, you need to know.
There is a Facebook group called “We Love Excellence Playa Mujeres” which is very helpful! I didn’t find out until midway through my trip, but it might be important when planning your first trip. I recommend joining!
The resort has removed all plastic straws. But they have no alternative (paper, bamboo, etc.). There is only real straw
