That’s right, on a snowy December afternoon on New Year’s Eve 2010 (2 months before we moved to the other side of the world), we exchanged vows as the sun began to set. Words cannot describe the joy of that day, even now the memories give me a smile and goosebumps…and I love that we celebrate each year as one year passes and another begins. We can look not only at what happened last year, but also at the years when we were Mr. and Mrs.; what we have achieved together and how we have grown together. Of course, I’m totally biased (and I think I said the same thing last year), but honestly, there’s never been a better time to be husband and wife! Need convincing?……

Anyone planning or considering a NYE wedding? Or have you ever been to a NYE wedding? I’m always looking for NYE brides but haven’t met one yet. What do you love about the idea of a NYE wedding, or what deters you from choosing such a date? When planning ours, I know it’s a lot easier than I thought when I decided on this date.
This year, Mr. E and I are celebrating not only our anniversary, but the addition of a new member to our little family in the form of this little friend (new puppy Bodie). We’ll be seeing her on Chic Vintage Brides in the coming weeks. Blakley and Tanner’s black-tie wedding at the Omni Barton Creek Resort was full of sparkle, glitter and festive accessories, all paired perfectly. My advice to brides-to-be? We were incredibly lucky to have such supportive family, friends and a wedding planner who made the planning so easy! The best advice I got after getting engaged was to list the top 5 things that are most important to you and your spouse-to-be on your wedding day (eg entertainment, flowers, catering, open bar, venue, etc.). Then have those involved in the planning (for us it was our parents and siblings) pick the top 5. It’s a great way to prioritize what you and those around you think are the most important aspects of your big day. Personally, my best advice is to find an expert wedding planner like Lauren Chumbley of Eclipse Event Co and CMEP.
