Black And White Christmas Table Setting – The countdown to Christmas has begun and to inspire your Christmas table ideas, I’m sharing some black and white Christmas decorating ideas. Yolandi from the blog A Zesty Life and I teamed up for this monochromatic Christmas shoot. There are two different sets of tablespaces for filming. Which I share below and then some on his blog.
When I think of Christmas decorations, I think of Christmas lights, Christmas cookies, crackers, candles, and delicious food. Even though the weather in South Africa is warmer during Christmas, the idea of a White Christmas is always in the back of my mind… So creating a cozy feeling is what I try to do.
Black And White Christmas Table Setting
I don’t know when you will start putting up your Christmas tree every year, so always hurry. Yolandi had a stunning white artificial Christmas tree in the background of our shoot. We used some bold black and white Christmas decorations to “pimped” and Southafricanify (is that a word?!) these proudly South African animals with handmade Gonk wings. (Available from Gonk for R95 ea)
The Best Diy Christmas Table Decorations
It’s a black and white Christmas paper and I bought a lot of it in the after Christmas sale last year… Enough to start my gift wrapping service. I also had to add a little Menagerie Schnauzer plush under the tree!
Yolandi finished it off by making some really beautiful appetizers using activated charcoal crackers – UM! See how to make this recipe for smoked salmon bites in 15 minutes. She also made an amazing cake for the movies with a horn cake from The Shop (sold out).
I recently bought some costumes and paper plates at H&M that I knew would be perfect for the movies. I used the two candle holders I needed to set the warm and cozy feel and then added baby’s breath as a table runner. I fell in love with baby’s breath (Gyps) because it makes me think of little snowflakes and you really only need a little to make a big impact. The lightbox can be found here.
Yolandi has lots of decorations that fit the theme and color scheme, so we used most of her stuff. The glasses are from Weylandts and the goldware is also Yolandi from Nicolson Russell, the black is from Nicolson Russell’s Antique plastic range.

Add some red to your Christmas centerpiece this year with an easy DIY mason jar project. This centerpiece was created by ‘Yellow Bliss Road’ to brighten up her table with the holiday spirit.
The centerpiece consists of two alternating mason jar designs in the center piece. (I like to use this 16 oz mason jar and this 32 oz mason jar from Amazon for DIY.)
A Simple Christmas Table Setting In White And Green
A mason jar is filled to the bottom with epsom salts (occupying the bottom third of the jar), with a beeswax candle on top.
A second style mason jar uses the same amount of epsom salt, with the top of the jar filled with fake cranberries and some juniper greens. I love this design!
